Unique Valentine's Gift for Men that Have Everything
"I may receive commissions from links on this page."
Are you currently stressing over buying a gift for a man who already has everything? Man, do I feel you! I used to pour over Pinterest and Amazon looking for the perfect gift for my man who tends to buy himself anything he wants the second he decides he wants it. That makes gift buying hard!
One of the best things I've started doing is noticing things that my man needs or mentions he would like throughout the year then adding it to a list in my phone.
Yes, this is a little extra but it has helped SO MUCH! When his parents ask me what he'd like for his birthday, I have a list of ideas right there. Then I'm not caught thinking "Man, I had the best idea, but I can't remember what it was!"
I do this for all of my family members, actually. And I've been told over and over that my gifts are thoughtful and asked "how did you know I wanted that?"
If you're struggling with a man who seems to have everything or is just down right tricky to shop for, I've compiled a list that will help you narrow down gift options for Valentine's day that he'll love!
ONE: Flowers
Who doesn't love getting flowers? Flowers aren't just for women, I like to send my man flowers once in a while, too! He loves receiving something to show that I care and that I've been thinking about him. Then we both get to enjoy them in our home. I love personally love ordering from 1-800-Florals. It's super simple to order them and get them shipped to wherever you need to get them. Click here to get amazing deals on flowers for your man for Valentine's Day!
TWO: Cigars, Humidor, Cigar Cutter, Lighter
My man loves to have a casual cigar on the deck with a glass of whiskey on nice evenings or to celebrate special events. And when his friends come over they think he is super bougie because he has his own humidor filled with a variety of cigars. Humidors are where you store cigars and they keep them at the perfect humidity level. It's like having a wine fridge or a wine cellar to have your wine ready to drink at all times, except for cigars.
Humidors vary so much, but you can get ones that digitally display the humidity levels and have individual slots to hold cigars. That would be the best starter one for somebody just getting into cigar smoking.
My husband mentions how much he likes his butane lighter each time he enjoys a cigar. You can get these as well as cigar cutters personalized on Etsy. My personal favorite is ThirstyRhino Designs. I have gotten my husband lighters, cutters, and even travel humidors from this creator!
If you're like me and have absolutely no idea where to start your research about cigars, you have a few options to find the perfect one for your guy. You can visit a cigar lounge or cigar shop near you and ask whoever is working for some recommendations. You can also visit cigars.com and get plenty of different options to help you pick out a few different bundles.
THREE: Couples Massage
I'm getting excited just thinking about this gift! It's the best of both worlds-- your guy is happy, you're happy, and you get to spend quality time together. I personally love couples massages because you both have the chance to unplug and relax. I always leave feeling like a completely different person.
If this is something you're thinking about scheduling, I would definitely do it sooner rather than later. These tend to book quickly.
If you wanted to really get creative, you could create a gift basket with massage oils, masks, salts, etc. for a spa day at home. Men like getting pampered sometimes, too. Plus, it's a good excuse to get some hands-on time, if you know what I mean!
FOUR: Gaming headset & NanoLeaf lights
Got a gamer on your hands? A new headset is the perfect gift. I mean, who doesn't want to hear their man yelling at other poor souls from the other room? I'm only joking. But your guy will really appreciate the thought you put towards his hobby.
The headset I recommend most for PlayStation is the Stealth 600 Gen 2 Headset from Turtle Beach. This headset is super lightweight so it's not cumbersome on your head after wearing it for awhile. It's wireless and can also be used with Nintendo consoles.
For Xbox, I recommend The Elite Pro 2 Headset from Turtle Beach. The mic is removable so you can use when it best suits your needs! Plus, they look super cool and sleek.
And to set the mood, some NanoLeaf lights would be perfect. These lights stick to the wall and are programmable to change colors and have different moods you can set. You can also arrange them in different patterns. These would be the best addition to his gaming room, plus, they look really cool.
FIVE: New Book
You can never go wrong with a new book. If your guy isn't one to typically get lost in fiction or sci-fi novels, personal growth books are always great choices, too. Some I would recommend include:
Extreme Ownership: How Navy Seals Lead and Win by Jocko Willink. This book is written by ex-seals describing the leadership principals that can be taken from their experiences and transformed into use in the business world.
The Science of Getting Started: How to Beat Procrastination, Summon Productivity... by Patrick King. The title speaks for itself, right? It will help the most and least motivated guys feel ready to dive into life head first after reading.
SIX: Planned Mini-Getaway
Did I think of this idea by thinking about exactly what I'd want? Maybe...But either way, this is a great idea! A mini-getaway is another chance for the two of you to disconnect and spend time together. This doesn't need to be anything crazy or budget busting. For tips on how to travel on a tight budget visit my blog post about how I travel on a teacher's budget.
Check out AirBnB or VRBO and find a cute and quaint place near home--make sure it's not too close, but also not too far away. If there's anything you or your man has been dying to do, now is the time. Schedule a nice dinner or two, a boat ride, game of golf, or wine tasting.
How often do you two sit around trying to decide where to eat dinner or what to do on a Saturday night? It's an amazing feeling to not have to think about that, but still be able to reap the benefits of going out!
Of course, you should always be safe and take the proper precautions in relation to COVID. Your weekend away isn't worth risking your health or anyone else's!
SEVEN: Cologne
I know this one is obvious, but really it's a gift for you too! You know best what smells you like, so why not get your man something that you know gets you interested, too. Plus, a little variety is always a good thing.
I would recommend smelling a few and picking your favorite. I’ve actually been known to ask men what cologne they’re wearing while out and about. My two favorites are the Yves Saint Laurent Y Eau De Toilette and Sauvage by Christian Dior Eau de Toilette, both I became familiar with by asking strangers why they smelled so good. There's no shame in my game!
EIGHT: Magnetic Wallet for Phone Case
The new iPhone cases have magnets on the inside that are super easy to attach a magnetic wallet to the back of the case. This will help keep your guys cards near by at all times. This gift is especially great for men who don’t like having to carry a wallet all the time. Now, they can carry it along with their phone everywhere they go.
NINE: Whiskey, Whiskey Glasses, Ice Shapers
If your guy is a whiskey lover like mine, this is a gift you can never go wrong with. Look for a nice set of whiskey glasses to add to his bar cart. I personally like looking at Home Goods--they have unique finds that not all of his friends will have.
A large ice cube mold is the perfect pairing for this gift. Individual ice cubes melt quicker and water the whiskey down, but large cubes melt much slower, therefore leaving the drink less watered down. Plus they look super cool!
Some examples of great whiskey your guy will love:
Macallen
Glenlivet
Blue Label
Blantons
Eagle Rare
Screwball
TEN: Car Detail
Some of my favorite gifts to give are gifts that people want to have but struggle to buy for themselves. An interior and exterior car detail is just that. Nothing beats the feeling of getting into a super clean car--it feels like new again. A gift certificate for a car detail is a perfect way to make somebody’s day or even week a little better with very little work from you.
ELEVEN: Nice Watch
A watch can tie an entire outfit together. It seems that almost anyone you come across these days has a smart watch, but there’s something about a classic timepiece that really enhances a man’s look. It’s nice to have for date nights, big work meetings, and special events. You can choose between metal or leather depending on your man's style. A Touch of Modern is a great place to start. They have so many different styles that really stand out. I've paired with a Touch of Modern for Valentine's Day and you can get up to 70% off of watches using this link.
TWELVE: Wooden Print of You Together
I remember when I was younger I would get my middle school boyfriend a picture of the two of us printed off and put it in a frame as a gift. It was thoughtful, but I’m sure I didn’t grace his bedside table for very long. The idea was there, the execution admittedly could have better.
A wooden or metal print with your favorite photo of the two of you on it is a timeless, aesthetic gift that can be placed in a variety of spots in your home while still enhancing the look of your space.
THIRTEEN: Golf Subscription Box
If your guy loves to golf, you know that golf accessories can be pricey and add up quickly. You can sign up for a golf subscription box for your man and the company will send you golf apparel, tees, balls, gloves, range finders and a variety of other things every month for a small price. You get to try new brands and find out what you like and adjust your preferences as the months go on. You can also cancel at any time. This is a great way to build your guys golf wardrobe as well as allow him to get some fun accessories for cheaper than he would be able to if he bought them at a sporting goods or golf specialty store.
Plus, you can sign up for a subscription box for yourself so you can tag along with him! My favorite brand is Short Par 4.
I love spoiling others and giving gifts. To see the gift that I surprise my husband with this Valentine's day, be sure to follow me on Instagram at this @this.unfilteredlife. I’d also love to see and hear what ideas you have for gifts for your significant other.
Until next time,
Erica.
